Here are some of our favorite things to do in and around Miramar Beach!
Rainforest Blacklight Golf & Arcade
Miniature golf, rainforest theme, black light. How can you go wrong?
Rainforest Blacklight Golf & Arcade brings funky fun to your day. Perfect for a rainy day or when trying to beat the heat, this location is fun for all ages.
Play a full 18 holes of mini golf or escape into the arcade room where you’ll have your pick of new and classic games. Both attractions come to life under the glow of black light. This is mini golf like you’ve never seen before.
Afterward, head over to a local spot, and our favorite, Buffalo Jack’s Legendary Wings and Pizza for amazing pizza and wings!
Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade
If you are looking for an interactive and immersive play experience, look no further than Thrills Laser Tag and Arcade.
The “Temple of Doom” play area has 2 levels and actually interacts with the players. While we won’t ruin the surprise by telling you all the secrets of the setup, we will say watch out for the cobra pillars!
The Shard Shop
If you’re a crafty sort and enjoy creative art workshops, pay a visit to The Shard Shop. The Shard Shop was created by Mary Hong, an award-winning artist living in the Emerald Coast region.
The Shard Shop is a “make-your-own-art” boutique where you will create your very own masterpiece using glass and resin. Each class runs for about 60 minutes and is open to everyone over the age of six, no matter their skill level.
The Shard Shop is located in Grayton Beach so you’ll have to travel about 14 miles east down Highway 98 from Miramar Beach to get there.
If you do make this trek, plan to leave early. There is near-constant construction on Highway 98 so be prepared for delays and give yourself lots of time.
The Village of Baytowne Wharf
The Village of Baytowne Wharf is located in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. With 12 restaurants, 15 shops, nightclub venues, and more, it has become a gathering place for the top entertainment in the region.
On top of fine dining and shopping, Baytowne Wharf is home to the Blast Arcade & Laser Maze, Cloak and Dagger Escape Room, Baytowne Adventure Zone, Adventure Land Playground, and Baytowne Carousel.
Whether you’re traveling as a family or as a group of adults, Baytowne Wharf can keep you busy!
The Zoo Gallery
Visit The Zoo Gallery to see stunning art pieces and maybe pick up a little something different to take home with you.
Founded in 1979 with the goal of sharing incredible artists with the local community, The Zoo Gallery continues to be a standout in the art shop scene. It is known for its unique and eclectic collections of pottery, jewelry, prints, home decor, cards, original t-shirts, and what can only be described as ‘weird stuff.’
If you have an interest in art or want to bring home a souvenir that will stand the test of time, you’re sure to love The Zoo Gallery.
Gulf Coast Axe House
If you’d like to add a little adventure to your Miramar Beach Florida visit, we suggest you hit up the Gulf Coast Axe House.
Throwing axes is a great way to have some fun and blow off a little steam. And you don’t need to have any previous experience. The on-site coaches will teach you the basics and then leave you to it.
This location is BYOB (beer and wine only, no liquor) so be sure to bring libations with you if you’re interested. There is also no food on site but you are welcome to bring your own or use UberEats.
Visit a State Park
The beauty and splendor of the Emerald Coast is hard to deny. While visiting, be sure to check out one of the nearby state parks.
Grayton Beach State Park is located in Santa Rosa Beach, about 15 miles from Miramar Beach and 23 miles from Destin. Grayton Beach often ranks as one of the most pristine beaches in the United States but this park has more to offer than perfect beach conditions. You can camp on site, hike the 4 miles of trails through the coastal forest, or go paddling or fishing in Western Lake.
Henderson Beach State Park is another popular destination. This site has a nature hike, fishing, camping, and a beach, all connected with a boardwalk. This site was established to protect and preserve the unique natural features of the area.
Grand Boulevard At Sandestin
For the best shopping and entertainment in South Walton, you must visit Grand Boulevard.
Live shows, theatre, dining, and shopping can all be found at Grand Boulevard. Everything here is elevated to provide a truly upscale experience.
The site has 765,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space (and 3 hotels!) in an open-air environment just steps away from the beaches and all the other local attractions.
Jet Ski Island Adventure
When you are done visiting the Destin Harbor Boardwalk, it is time to hit the water!
One of the best ways to take in the coast is from your very own jet ski rental! With the Island Adventure, a knowledgeable guide will show you all the greatest local spots, sand bars, and hidden away islands so you can have a truly enjoyable experience.
No need to waste your rental time jetting aimlessly, looking for the best sites, or idling in a no-wake zone. With Destiny Water Adventures, you will hit the waves in an open-wake zone, on top-of-the-line equipment, and our guides will always point you in the right direction!
Crab Island Dolphin Jet Ski Adventure
One of the top attractions when in the Destin/Miramar area is to visit Crab Island.
And one of the most popular things to do once there is to go on a dolphin tour. Destiny Water Adventures has everything you need to get up close and personal with the dolphins in their natural habitat.
Booking a Crab Island Dolphin Jet Ski Adventure gives you access to our friendly, knowledgable guides and a full 2 hours on the water! Forget about riding a tour boat with a bunch of strangers all hoping to catch a glimpse and instead hop on a two-seater Yamaha Waverunner and get in on the action.
Our guides know all the best spots for finding dolphins and we won’t limit you to Crab Island, we’ll also take you around Destin Harbor and Santa Rosa Sound.
In our experience, early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to spot dolphins so keep that in mind when booking your adventure.
Crab Island Pontoon Boat Rental
Despite the name, Crab Island is not an island by definition but a ‘spoil island,’ created by sand dredged from the Gulf of Mexico and Choctawhatchee Bay. But to visitors, it’s simply a beautiful place to enjoy the sun and sand.
Crab Island is known for crystal green waters with depths of 1-4 feet. These depths make it a perfect spot for lounging, swimming, and splashing around.
And if you’re hungry, you can take advantage of one of the floating restaurants!
You cannot reach Crab Island by land so you will need to rent a boat or a jet ski. Destiny Water Adventures has Crab Island Boat Rentals that are perfect for any group.
Our pontoon boats are the latest custom models so you can ride with comfort knowing that you are unlikely to break down or need support. Our boat rentals include all safety gear, a cooler to keep your food and drinks chilled, a Bluetooth stereo so you can create your own soundtrack, and room for 10-12 people.
If you have your heart set on seeing and exploring the green waters, we recommend piloting your boat to the tide tables. Try to plan for high tide as that is the best opportunity to see the emerald green hues.
